COURSES IN MLD
 
MLDUK believes that to ensure that the highest standards of Manual Lymphatic Drainage are maintained, practice should be confined to those who have undertaken, or who are undertaking, training through the Vodder, Leduc, Földi, Casley-Smith and Asdonk schools or their accredited teachers.  With that in mind, successful completion of the following courses, which are only open to those who already have a massage qualification, and those who have professional medical qualifications (for example in physiotherapy or nursing) will lead to Membership of MLDUK at the appropriate level, if so desired.

Course Length

Generally, the Vodder Basic and Vodder Therapy 1 courses are 5 or 6 full days in length. A number of teachers (as well as students) prefer this to be spread over two weekends which are not necessarily consecutive. In the table above, course dates written as "10th to 12th Oct, 8th & 9th Nov" refer to one Vodder course.

 

CPPD in Advances in Lymphoedema
 Management Manual Lymphatic Drainage

The Centre for Research and Implementation of Clinical Practice will be running a module in Manual Lymphatic Drainage at the Faculty of Health and Human Sciences,Thames Valley University at the Ealing (Westel) House site The course has been validated by Thames Valley University for the award of 20 credits at level 6.  Applicants must be practising qualified Health Care Professionals working predominantly with people with lymphoedema in a specialised role.  They must have access to the full range of patients with lymphoedema or be prepared to visit centres where they can observe the full range of patients with different lymphoedema conditions.  In addition applicants should have undertaken a general lymphoedema programme, including multi-layer bandaging such as the Certificate of Personal and Professional Development (CPPD) in the Management of Care of Patients with lymphoedema offered by the Centre. Casley-Smith
